Dalton’s Junk Removal is a junk removal and clean out business serving the Brainerd Lakes area of Minnesota. This page explains what we do with the information you send us through this website, in plain language.
What you give us
When you fill out the quote form, or text or email us, you choose what to send. The form asks for:
- Your name
- Your phone number
- Your email address, if you want to give one. It’s optional.
- Where the job is
- When you need it gone
- A description of what needs to go
- Photos, if you choose to add them
We only ask for what we need to price the job and show up at the right place. If you’d rather not put your address in a form, call or text us instead.
What we collect automatically
- A scrambled version of your IP address. We run it through a one way function before we store it, so what we keep can’t be turned back into your address. It’s there to catch abuse of the form, nothing else.
- Your browser’s user agent, which is the line your browser sends telling us roughly what device and browser you’re on.
- Standard server logs kept by our hosting provider, which every website has.
What we do with it
- Work out a price and a pickup window for your job
- Call, text or email you back about it
- Find the property and do the work
- Keep a record of the job, so we can look it up later if you call again
- Spot and block junk submissions from bots
We don’t sell your information. We don’t rent it, trade it, or hand it to anyone building a marketing list.
Your photos
Photos you send go into private storage. They are not published anywhere, they are not listed in any public folder, and there is no link that would let someone else pull one up. We use them to size up the job.
If we ever want to use a photo of your job on this website or in an ad, we’ll ask you first. The photos already on the site are our own work, used with the property owner’s permission.
Calls and texts
Giving us your number is how we get back to you, so expect a call or a text about your request. We use it to quote and schedule your job, not to send marketing blasts. Reply STOP to any text and we’ll stop texting you.
Cookies and advertising
This site doesn’t set any cookies of its own.
We do run Google Ads, and Google’s tag sets cookies so we can tell which ads actually bring in calls. That’s counting, not profiling: we see that a call came from an ad, not who you are. How Google handles that data is covered by Google’s privacy policy, and you can turn off ad personalization at Google’s My Ad Center.
Who else sees it
A handful of companies handle pieces of this for us, and they only get what they need to do their part:
- Our website host, which serves this site and runs the form
- Our database and file storage provider, where the request and photos are kept
- Our email provider, which delivers the notification of your request to us
- Google, for the ad measurement described above
Beyond that, we’d only share your information if the law required it, or to protect someone’s safety or our legal rights.
How long we keep it
We keep quote requests and job records for as long as we need them to run the business and meet our tax and record keeping obligations, and generally no longer than three years after your last contact with us. Ask us to delete yours sooner and we will, unless we’re required to hang onto it.
Your choices
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what we have on file for you
- Correct something that’s wrong
- Delete your request and any photos that came with it
- Stop contacting you
Call or text (320) 423-2229 and say so. We’re a small local business, not a call center, so it goes straight to us.
Security
The site is served over an encrypted connection, and your request and photos are stored in private, access controlled systems. No system is perfectly secure, so please use your judgment about what you put in the description field.
Children
This site is meant for adults arranging a service. We don’t knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you think a child sent us something, call us and we’ll delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we’ll update this page and change the date at the top.
